Doubt if they would have heard on game day. But when they showed up the night before to do a walkthrough, it was a different matter. All the rooms faced out with an inner hallway which had inward facing windows. We would pepper them welcoming comments. My most memorable stadium story. — One cold windy night in the middle of the week someone squeezed under the chain gates and broke into the press box room from which they made stadium announcements. There was a old style turntable which could be switched to the PA system. They cranked up the volume to max and put on a LP copy of John Phillip Sousa military matching songs. With the swirling wind and an empty stadium, the sound carried for miles. My roommate got a call from his girlfriend who lived at Miller Hall on the other side of the campus asking what was going on at the stadium. It was funny at 1st, but after 30 minutes it got old. Way too loud to study in the dorm. The turntable arm would pickup after the last song and start all over again. Campus police showed up, but did not have the keys to get in as someone had stolen their copy. They called the grounds keeper and he lived on the other side of town. The record was about half way on the 3rd pass before they shut it off.
The 1st 3 yrs at LSU I lived in the dorms and my GPA looked like a sine wave (somewhat appropriate for an electrical engineering major) with the low points in football season. I moved off campus and got it to stay at the high point the last 3 semesters.
LOL. We said that back in the 90's about marinas: Q: "How do you make $1 million owning a marina?" A: "Invest $2 million."
