If he doesn't get the OC job does he walk? He left Florida after Mullen left because he didn't get the OC job. Speculation here has been that he was the OC in waiting when Crowton left. However, did the lack of production from the passing game most of the year void that possibility? And if so, does he bolt again?
I think it depends on who we hire. If we hire someone like a Cam Cameron, I think he brings in his own people. If we hire someone like Fuente, we may end up keeping some coaches on the staff. I say get the right people in there to support the new OC, don't force anyone on them.
I think OC is the only change Miles is looking to make. Gonzales may not like it and leave but I don't think the new OC will have anything to do with it. I think Miles would be crazy to hand the OC job to Gonzales. Let him prove he can coach WR's first.
:geaux: I think if Gonzales was going to be the new OC he'd already be announced as such and this process would be over with. It would be absolutely senseless to "interview" other candidates if someone already on staff had the job. Gonzales doesn't have the job and will not get it, plain and simple. :LSU231:
