I hope that CBG brings at least these 3 things to the Tigers offense: 1. Attention to detail in play execution 2. Quicker turnover between play/better clock management 3. Improved QB confidence That said, ultimately, I would also like to see CBG have some input on a smoother offensive gameplan, but not sure that will happen this year with CGC still at the helm. I am hopeful, however, that CLM is in fact demanding more emphasis on the running game, and CGCs "genius" "cutesy" playcalling will be curtailed.
If a college-level OC needs an assistant to accomplish that, then it's time for him to move on to something else.
i'm not gonna anoint bg as our savior and next oc before i even see the results of his coaching on the field for lsu. but all reports and indications are favorable, and makes me think he may have been the shot in the arm our offense needed.
If its simpler than last season, we are in trouble . . . I don't want Gonzales to dumb down the passing game for the QB, I want him to make the QB smarter and run a pro-style passing game.
Simpler probably being not the perpetual 5 receiver sets on 3rd and long. Maybe smarter calls would be the phrase. I can only hope.
I think this is correct. I think we had some very good plays in our book last year, the real problem to me was it seemed that the wrong play was called most of the time..
