I was thinking about this. I think BG might be an OC soon but not here. If the offense is good this year than Crowton gets off the hot seat. I can't see him getting fired after a productive season. Chances are some another school notices BG's impact and snatches him up as their OC. On the other hand, if we are bottom of the league again, I think Crowton has to fall on the sword. But if that happens I doubt Miles will promote someone that was on the staff of a failed offense.
Crowton's contract ends after this year, I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. His contract was too large to dump him after last year.
Correct but still wouldn't assume LSU would have taken him as an OC given he has never been one before and Crowton was also influential in pulling BG here because of their ties.
I've heard nothing but good things about him. CUM was pissed because he was one of their better coaches and I know the fans HATED to see him go. Hopefully, he stays here for a while, but I think he's on track to being an OC somewhere (maybe here if Crowton continues to fade) and will quickly rise to the ranks of being one of up and coming hot shot head coaches.
that is my belief of why he is still here. would look really bad (and i believe alleva is all about appearances) if he was dumped with a large buy out and someone else high dollar brought in, with all the slash and burn of budgets going on.
Well you know Urban's gotta be pissed because he lost BG and his defensive coordinator at the same time.
maybe he'll get his panties wadded over it and quit, then come back while telling a recruit that he would come back and die on the side lines for them. oh, wait.....
