Very good football players make normal coaches look like great coaches!

Average football players make normal coaches look average!

Bad players make normal coaches look average!

Very good coaches can make average players look great!

A good QB can make everyone look better!

A young average QB can make any OC look bad!

I don't disagree with you, its just that it seems Crowton ain't goin nowhere for now, so I'm hoping with an upgrade to other asst's we will see and improvement.:thumb:

That's rich. All anybody does here is sh!t on the offensive staff.

I'd say it's fairly generous to call our 108th ranked offense "sh!t". That's being charitable.

My question, it appears there are/were problems with WR techniques etc
and were obvious to the new coach. Why were they not obvious to someone already on the staff? WHY did they EVER hire DM to start with??

Maybe CM did see it and gave him a chance to correct from last year. Remember, DM didn't get a raise when other coaches did.

Good post. We have all discussed at length as to where our offensive ineptness lies, and who's at fault. Is it coaching and development? Is it scheme and play calling? If our WRs had such bad fundamentals, hopefully that is an indication of the former, which I think is a much easier fix. In Gonzales we trust.

Well, being 107th in offense nationally, I predict, will not be corrected by a change at WR coach. If that's all the problem was, they should have recognized that much sooner and corrected the problem pronto. If DJMs ineptnesss was the sole root of the offensive problems, then how does that explain the O-line's woes, or the RBs to run right into the backs of the O-line, or our lack of offensive identity, or the puzzling playcalling?

I hear what you are saying about the intricacies of a teams success, but it is strictly b/c you want to believe that this change will be part of a complex matrix of dominoes that is going to allow them all to stay upright. It is not a lynch mob mentality that has most of us calling for CGCs replacement, but rather a recognition that given our offensive talent, we should have been much better the last two years, and recognition that this offensive decline is historically what CGC coached offenses do. Additionally, if DJM was doing his job this poorly, then it is clear that a weakness of CLM is to make changes in a timely manner. I support how he handles his asst's to ensure they don't get d'cked over, but if DJM was as inept as people are now suggesting, then CLM should have made a command decision much sooner and made that change. The reason that didn't happen sooner is b/c that is not the single root of the problem, and would not have resulted in our offense being that much more productive as you are trying to conclude. I guess we will find out how this all plays out now that the BGonzalez tenure is beginning. If bringing he and Wilson on board make a huge impact on our offensive effectiveness then I will be in the line of supporters, but my expectations are not high for a dramatic change. I am, however, hopeful.
