if the minimum wage is raised to 10 an hour, companies are just going to cut corners by getting rid of workers and charge more for their products. It's just like ending the subsidy for oil companies, as soon as that happens, all they will do is just raise the price and get that money that way. vicious cycle. workers don't mean shit. people don't mean shit. you don't mean shit, I don't mean shit, if you aren't a 1 percenter and I don't mean in an MC, you are nothing to lawmakers.
the minimum wage was put in place to prevent employers from grossly underpaying their employees, not to stick it to anyone. I hardly consider 7.25 an hour really sticking it to anyone. Hell, even if they raised it to 8.50, no one is getting rich on those wages. what is the problem with that?
Again, I ask if you think unpaid internships should be illegal. Shouldn't we protect people from those? You can't live off an unpaid internship. Ask yourself why a person would take an unpaid internship and whether the government should allow it. When your dumbass brain figures that out apply to all jobs that pay little or nothing. Prices should always be determined by the buyers and sellers and nobody else. Anything else is authoritarian bullshit.
You do mean something. Your employer needs employees just as much as you need a job. Also regarding oil prices, it would be better if they had no subsidy and higher prices so I wouldNt have to subsidize your car driving environment destroyers and your SUVs
And AGAIN I point out to you that unpaid interns are VOLUNTEERS. The dumbass brain at work. If you don't understand the difference between a student volunteer working for experience and a low-paid employee working for a living, you are a total dumbass. If you think that unskilled people would work for nothing if offered nothing, you should get out and get a job yourself and learn something.
I don't think people should work for nothing, unless they want to. I don't presume to be their dad. If you think volunteers should be legal then why would have the Gestapo shut down a volunteer that get a few dollars? Why can't I work for experience in addition to a small hourly salary that buys my lunch? Why stop me from doing that.
there are many places where I would work for 1 dollar an hour. Why stand in my way? You are not my goddamn dad.
You are makinng an exception the rule. An unpaid internship is a means to an end, a temporary stop along a longer journey; not a life sentence. Your logic is so ill-conceived sometimes and I cannot help but laugh that you consider me the dumbass for applying critical thinking when your argument is absent of it. Try again.....
