if the minimum wage is raised to 10 an hour, companies are just going to cut corners by getting rid of workers and charge more for their products. the minimum wage was put in place to prevent employers from grossly underpaying their employees, not to stick it to anyone. I hardly consider 7.25 an hour really sticking it to anyone. Hell, even if they raised it to 8.50, no one is getting rich on those wages. what is the problem with that?

If you don't understand the difference between a student volunteer working for experience and a low-paid employee working for a living, you are a total dumbass. If you think that unskilled people would work for nothing if offered nothing, you should get out and get a job yourself and learn something.
I don't think people should work for nothing, unless they want to. I don't presume to be their dad. If you think volunteers should be legal then why would have the Gestapo shut down a volunteer that get a few dollars? Why can't I work for experience in addition to a small hourly salary that buys my lunch? Why stop me from doing that.
