This qoute should say it all "Baton Rouge happens to be the worst place in the world for a visiting team. It's like being inside a drum." and who said that? Yea "Bear" Bryant; you know that guy the gumps obsess over. Maybe you guys have played in hostile-ish environments, I promise you when Death Valley is hoping that is a hostile environment.
Anyone ever see that movie "The Express" about Ernie Davis? Man they made West Virginians out to be the biggest bunch of racist hillbillies.
Yep, He said it and I think he meant it. Coach Bryant was funny that way.(14-2 all time record inside the drum)
Hahaha. I know what the WVU fans are thinking. I'll post for them, but they actually didn't even play @WVU that season.
Hard to deny that record but look who our coaches were Charles McClendon and Bill Arnsparger. Not what you would call a shining era for LSU football.
Charlie Mac was a good coach. It wasn't an every year series until 64. LSU got caught on the short side of the wishbone era. Bama ran off about 10 years in a row against LSU Tennessee and Auburn during that same period. But after that it was a series where LSU struggled to defend their home turf. Can't explain it, it was truly a phenomena.
I guess playing at Marshall, having Coastal Carolina and Maryland at home is a big deal? Wasn't Maryland like 2-10 last year? With a win over James Madison, oh wait. Maybe I gave too much info.
