Sucks balls. 74.8%, need 75 % of the vote to get in

He'll get in, but damn that is horrible.

He would have gone in with Maddux, Glavine and the Big Hurt. That would have a been a great class to join.

It's better than the Basketball HOF which has a bunch of scrubs in it.

Here is a writeup on one such player:

    PG: KC Jones - 1959-1967, Inducted 1989

Jones is in the Hall of Fame solely because he was part of the Celtics Dynasty in the sixties, picking up eight championship rings from 1959-1966. Then again, Jones played with players such as Bill Russell, Bob Cousy, and Sam Jones, among others, so you can see why he won eight championships. In his own right, Jones was considered a top-notch defender and a glue guy for the Celtics. That's all well and good, but here's the thing. Jones was never named to an All-Star game, never even averaged more than 10 points a season and finished his career with a career average of 7.4 points a game and a .387 shooting percentage from the field. Jones played nine seasons, played starter's minutes (over 30 per game) for only four of those seasons, and was an offensive zero that never made an All-Star team. I think it's safe to say that the only reason Jones is in the Basketball Hall of Fame is because of the success of the teams he played on, not anything he did to stand out individually.

Had Biggio gotten 1 more vote, he would have gotten to 74.956 % and they still would not have allowed him in.

I tend to agree, the glad handing and hob knobbing that goes on with this bunch and the voters who get them in there is a complete joke.

The vast majority of BBHOF voters are clueless farts that don't even understand or agree on what they're voting for. Biggio was short 2 votes. I strongly disagree, but I can roll with that. He'll get in next year. I guarantee you that he was left off of some ballots just becasue he was on the same team with Bagwell so he's guilty of association of someone under suspicion. But here's a question for you: Which ones of those douchebags didn't vote for Maddux? Dude was one of the most dominant of his era. That's not even debatable. I hate the Braves and will freely admit he was the greatest of his generation. And not with power, but all about control and location. That's impressive. I bet some windbag didn't vote for him becasue he couldn't routinely throw a 98 mph fastball.

Baseball writers are the worst. Some turn in blank ballots to insure nobody gets in with 100% of the vote. They claim that the character of the player is part of the voting, but Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth, and Ty Cobb are in the hall. Mantle and Ruth were alcoholic womanizers and Cobb was just an all around horrible human being.

Ty Cobb was arguably the worst human being to ever play baseball.
