its funny now looking back at some of these games (like how mad i was after BC came back and beat VT) Thinking about how the outcome of SO MANY games helped lsu get back into the championship, that at the time, really didn't matter to LSU fans. The stars deff. lined up for the Tigers.
there is so much luck involved with winning a NC. There really is. A good example is how imo the 05 and 06 teams would have both beaten this one. but the breaks (a pass interference against Auburn in 06) (and a hurricane in 05) didn't go their way.
Another big play was the fake punt that Miles called against Spurrier's South Carolina team in Game 4. Remember, that game could have been a lot closer than it was.
sometimes you make your own luck or lack thereof.....I blame the Auburn loss in 06 on Jimbo Fisher. That's his baby. Even Auburn fans would attest to that.
okay, then... A bogus holding call on a screen holds off an LSU TD against UF. then JaMarcus Russell fumbles a snap at the 1 against Florida stalling that drive
now I agree that we did everything possible to hand the game to Florida, with some help from the refs Would we have won the game having scored that TD? I dunno, it would have made for a helluva game.
Great thread; lots of great plays to choose from, but here are my favorites 1) Fake FG for a TD 2) 4th and whatever; Hester vs Florida 3) Flynn to Byrd vs Auburn 4) Chad Jones vs Bama 5) Zenon INT for a TD in SEC Champ game 6) Pitt D knocking out WV QB 7) CLM: "I am the coach at LSU!" "I will be the coach at LSU!" "I am excited about the opportunity to play in a Championship game with my DAMN STRONG FOOTBALL TEAM!!!" I could do this all day it seems. Lots of players have stepped up over the course of our 13 games. And now, we need 60 more minutes of magic on Jan 7th. :crystal: :geaux: :crystal: :geaux: :crystal:
I know its not a specific play, but how about the WVU coach letting Pat White get into his civvies and then sit for 1/2 the game. I never understood why, if he was so injured, he came back to play the last from series. He did not look that hurt to me.
