Just wondering who ppl think is the bigger bust Leinart or JR? My vote would be for Matty because he actually was surrounded by a team and had WRs to throw to lik Larry Fitz, A. Boldin, Steve Breston and others.
If Jason Campbell has a mediocre to decent year, it will solidify JR as being more of a bust. It's basically the same team.
Leinart was the tenth pick, and was paid tenth pick money. Jamarcus Russell was the first overall pick and was paid first pick money. Russell was paid something like 4 to 5 X as much as Leinart. And, Russell basically sabotaged any chance an average Raiders team had. After giving him all that money, the Raiders had to start him over better options and the team lost as a result. With Leinart, his damage was limited because he sat on the bench behind a hall of famer and watched Warner lead the Cardinals into the playoffs. So, Russell still goes down as the biggest bust in the NFL, both literally and figuratively.
Leinart was given 2 more years than Russell was. so people at least considered ML as a viable backup. jr just straight sucked.
I say JR, just because he never put in the work in takes to be an NFL QB. Hell, he didn't even work out, as evidence by him ballooning to 300+ lbs. The Raiders should'nt have cut him. They should've tried to get some type of return on their investment by putting him on the Oline. :hihi:
Texans pick up ML for a year after receiving little interest from the other 31 teams: Sources: Houston Texans agree to deal with QB Matt Leinart - ESPN Matt leave your ego at the door.
True. I think the whole deal with the Cardinals was pretty humbling for him. Imagine how jealous he must be of Reggie.
