Texas to join their conference. Texas-to-Big Ten Rumors Heat Up -- NCAAFB FanHouse "There have been preliminary exchanges between the Big Ten and Texas," the source told the Journal-World on Wednesday. "People will deny that, but it's accurate." wow, that would be crazy if it happened.
i also heard where the Pac 10 is trying to expand to 12 teams, and i can think of 3 maybe 4 that could be potential teams to join, Utah, BYU, Boise St, and Hawaii. Who would you take out of those 4, Hawaii is for sure out. It really does make no sense for Texas to move to the big 10, other than financially, why would they want to travel to Ann Arbor or the Horseshoe every other or every 4 to 5 years, or Purdue were its really cold. I still wish the NCAA would force Notre Dame to join the big 10.
Yes, because the concern is that BYU can't play sports on Sundays, which would create scheduling issues for other schools.
Mizzou was the team that actually showed interest in moving to the Big 11. It was quite the buzz here because they were talking about who they would get to replace them. Candidates were BYU, doesn't make sense because of distance and geographic location, TCU, Great choice but that would make 4 teams from Tx in the big 12 and probably force okie state to the north division (they actually like that). It never really went any further than that other than them trying to kick baylor out and try to get the hogs back into what used to be the swac/big8. I doubt any of it happens and I'd bet you a shiitpile of money that the bonghorns have less than zero intentions of leaving the big 12.
I hear ya. I'm still working on why Boston College is in the same conference with Miami, Fla... or why TCU and San Diego State are in the same league.... Marshall and UTEP....South Florida and Syracuse....Arkansas or Kentucky and Florida.... or Texas and Nebraska, for that matter.... hell, makes me wonder if I got the right wife......
