A source told ESPN.com's Adam Rittenberg the ban could start in 2016, with several FCS games already on the books for 2014 and 2015. But it could be a gradual move with some schools stopping now and some stopping later, the source said.

The Big X is trying to regain the thunder it lost to the SEC. They desperately want to be the best conference again...but the weather gods are against them. The best football is from the South. We play all year long and we don't have hockey.

SEC will always rule in football.

No question the SEC has an advantage with weather, population, etc., but I would be careful in saying the SEC will ALWAYS rule in football. The B1G Ten can and will once again compete with the SEC. That being said, it's hard to make this argument when you look at the last 7 years. Enjoy it while you can, it won't last forever.

You're right about not lasting forever...The big XII is poised to rise (...if they ever learn to play defense ;)).

When I was young, the big X dominated football !! (along with Nebraska under Osborne )....How'd you know I went to grad school at OU? :D

There is another big advantage to the geography of the SEC and it's not changing anytime soon. Talented African-American players and enthusiastic Confederate-American fan bases have been a successful combination.
