Good pickup. He did well at some camp in Texas and had really started to get major notice. He's ranked as a 3-star now but will definitely be a 4-star when expanded rankings come out.
He runs a 4.74 fourty. That is incredibly fast for an OT. He looks like he can easily get past 300 lbs with his frame.
He's got GREAT size and very good speed/quickness for someone that size! He'll make for a very formidable OT for us at some point! :thumb: Welcome to LSU, big guy! I got to see some of his video clips on rivals and much like Matt Allen two seasons ago, and T-Bob Hebert last year, Parson looks to play with a "mean streak"--not "dirty"--but if you're standing up and the whistle hasn't blown, he's gonna blow you up! If there is one thing that I MIGHT be inclined to view as a problem area (and I'm not a coach so I don't know a whole lot of them), it would be that at the next level, he needs to possibly learn to keep his hands inside when he blocks. On more than a handful of those plays, by all accounts, he had taken his man and blocked him pretty much completely out of the play, but I noticed towards the tail end of those plays, if he fell, the defender fell--some of them looked like they would certainly be a clear holding call in the SEC. But I'm sure coach "Stud" and CLM will have him cleared of that real soon... Again, nice pickup for us!
Although the recruiting sites don't show it, he claims offers from UT, A&M, Miami, FSU, and others. This is a big time prospect, and a great get for Miles & co. I expect he'll be a 4 star by the time signing day comes around.
One thing i think we will see in Crowtons offense is more counters and traps. In order to do that you must have quick gaurds that can pull. Give me Keiland Williams and a crisp blocking scheme and it is going to be a heck of a year. I would like to see more crossing patterns with a certain small but fast wr we have now at the NCAA track championships. I would like to see the person who can gaurd him on a crossing pattern man for man. Then when they start playing zone you run KW and Murphy up the gazoo on em.
