Perhaps it is time to consider the travesty of having an automatic qualifier from the Big East. This year West Virginia, the 23rd ranked team in the BCS standings received a BCS bowl bid and is playing in the Orange Bowl. I think the 23rd ranked team deserves to rake in the big bucks while a double digit list of teams ranked above them get a few pennies don't you?
Another reason the BCS is a sham, and needs to go: Orange Bowl (BCS-affiliated) No. 23 West Virginia vs No. 15 Clemson Sugar Bowl (BCS-affiliated) No. 13 Michigan vs No. 11 Virginia Tech Cotton Bowl (supposedly a second-tier bowl) No. 6 Arkansas vs No. 8 Kansas St.
VaTech should never be invited to a bowl that people may actually want to see. That is continually the most boring and painful team to watch.
It's how they keep it in tact. Give a piece of the pie to enough conferences to vote to keep it. Getting a team in a BCS bowl at 23rd IS sad. I don't think even the Domers with their sweet deal could get in at 23rd.
The Big Least is trying to hold their conference together after major defections. Some of these teams are coming, Boise St., Houston, etc.. with the hopes of a automatic bid. It would be ironic if the automatic bid were taken away.Big East Expansion: Floundering Conference Will Be Saved by Rumored Additions | Bleacher Report
They should add Tulane and Southern Miss and re-name the league Conference USA. What a worthless football league.
So they add SDSU!!! Really!!! Great school, lots of hot chics on campus last time I was there, oh circa 1989 but wow. I guess this makes them legit. Only question is will SDSU fly east or west to get to their games on the east coast?
