Could hardly hear Coach. Coach said he did not need any more coaches, folks kept encroaching on the big cat area, lots of grab assin amongst the spectators...just did not seen businesslike and focused to me. I am sure many disagree, and that is ok, too. Old school.
Big Cat is all about testosterone. Of course there is going to be those things you describe. Has nothing to do with being undisciplined. If you notice, every time a name was called, he was ready to line up.
If you watch Inside Training Camp on HBO you see all the teams do some version of this. THe main goal is to build team morale and do this by pitting the offense and defense against each other to cheer each side on. Designed to get rowdy and competitive.
He was probably trying to give some tips and coaching, judging by Miles' reaction. "HE DON'T NEED TO HEAR COACHIN' FROM YOU!!" It's possible that Hurst did something earlier to tick him off, and he remained in the dog house for the rest of practice. I remember from my football days, you never wanted to piss coach off right at the beginning of practice, or that practice was going to be Hell. You were going to be singled out for the next three hours.
Hurst was the olineman that quit last season. Someone made a comment that sounded like they were comparing one of the drill participants actions to something Hurst would've done. I counldnt make it out though.
