video of todays Big Cat drill , I must say that Copeland is a beast!! http://videos.nola.com/times-picayune/2013/08/lsu_kicks_off_full_squad_pract.html
3:55, Justin Maclin vs Jake Franklin, the transfer TE from William & Mary. Welcome to the SEC, Jake. 4:30, the new & improved Kenny Hilliard takes it to the 18! Copeland vs Duke Riley? Unfair! He's got about 60 pounds and 3 years on the kid. Then again, he's from John Curtis, so he could probably use a little humility.
Can someone explain the goal, for example how to tell who wins .. I can really only tell when its obvious and a blowout off the line, and yeah, 60lbs difference, really isnt fair.
Who backs who up and continues after initial contact. The goal is to explode off the whistle , stay low and drive your feet. Supposed to stay square not throw off the sides.
There were two of our players who need to get some pride. They walked off with head hanging after getting driven back. I bet if I'd gotten beat off the the whistle and had my azz ate up I would've been telling coach I wanted another shot. Man Miles ate one of 'ems azz. One player said something to the one of the white guys who had his hand out. Miles says, "We don't need you coaching...get the hell to the back."
@lsutiga It was Jerald Hawkins against Jordan Allen. He may have been going after Allen, who had walked off camera. Couldn't hear what was said, but a couple of players standing next to the camera clearly disapproved.
Also impressed with how KJ Malone held his ground against Mickey Johnson, and LaCouture against Fanaika. The Samoan outweighs Nebraska by a good 50 pounds.
Wow Copeland is scary! In a good way....same video just a different angle.. http://theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/6739807-123/big-cat-drill-marks-first
