A customer of mine is a big 12 referee.....those refs are probably the best trained and performing in all of college football.

Unlike the SEC, every game is graded by an impartial body (the NFL) who is merciless in their grading. For example, you'll get marked down when the correct call is made....but you're out of position. They even grade how the calls are announced and how the replays are handled. The SEC keeps everything "in house" . :yelwink2:

AND, unlike the SEC, there's actual accountability for poor officiating. The refs get suspended if their grades are too low. Every suspension is indefinite in the big 12...it could be one game or they may never call on you again.

Independent review and accountability.....when will the SEC learn? :rolleye33:

The SEC refs tend to favor undefeated teams. The more undefeated teams, the better chance of the national title game. The BCS title game makes more money than the other bowls, so more money for everyone in the conference.

Totally agree. They called our NCG vs tOSU, and that game was called expertly.

Not until the NCAA imposes national, uniform standards for officiating performance and review. The SEC will never change on its own as long as Slive's good ole boys run things. I think a good first step is this idea of "pooling" officials from several neighboring conferences. All the big SEC games have the same crews every year, and this would alleviate that situation.

Sweet, can we get them to do our entire season? SEC officials and NBA officials should be forced into steel cage matches to the death.

I'd pay good money to see Joey Crawford mauled to death by bears.

You know that there is a major problem with the officiating system when instead of correcting the issues the SEC just fines coaches for calling attention to it. :dis:

So now the only group, with both the credibility to point out bad calls and the vested interest in wanting them corrected, is silenced and the SEC can do whatever it wants.

So all it sounds like is a bunch of whining biased fans. I totally agree, not being able to question an official is absurd. When coaches, and players can get raked over the coals for not doing their jobs right, the officials damn well should also.
