These ESPN mooks are stirrin the pot just to get customers lined up for the annual SEC BASH ... ahem ... the BCSCG
I think people here are just talking about it because the folks at ESPN and elsewhere are trying to rile people up and keep that interest up. It's all blabber. It doesn't even matter. Our conferences are clearly the two best conferences in CFB anyway! :hihi:
Outside of LSU and Alabama the SEC does not appear to be as strong as it has been the past 7 yrs or so. That's okay. Some of u respond as if your hound was kicked. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think people all around the country look at the scores in the Big 12 and assume because they put up so many points that they are good teams. Too many football fans forget that the game is composed of defense and 4 components special teams as well. When the non-bowl season starts we'll see the SEC playing teams that are actually seeded higher in their conference in many instances and the SEC has fared pretty well in these matchups overall. The Creme rises to the top and I feel that a few of these SEC teams are going to surprise the pundits when it is all said and done.
That's a different conversation. I don't think anyone is denying that the SEC is better at the top. They dominate.
Arkansas 42 Texas A&M 38 Well, that's the only game played this year between the two conferences, so obviously the SEC is better. (chuckle) I apolgize for the small sample size. Funny how these two conferences don't schedule each other.
I think the thought that the Big 12 is better than the SEC is just bunk. There's no disputing the top tier teams .... LSU, Bama, AR, Georgia, could all beat Okie State, OU, Kansas State and Baylor. LSU and Bama would dominate all 4 Big 12 teams. AR would probably beat OU, Kansas State, and Baylor .. and would have one heck of a shoot out with Okie State, and could win that as well. Georgia has been kinda silient, but they've come on strong of late. I think they play close games with all, and probably beat Kansas State and Baylor, ... maybe even OU. On the bottom tier teams, it's pretty much a toss up, meaning that the bottom two thirds of both conferences are probably about equal.
