Let them keep quiet about our O. It pisses our guys off and lulls others to sleep. I would rather kick *ss in the BCSNCG than get headlines before. :LSU231: :crystal:
It's just the way they do it...it's not eye popping to the media.....three yards and a cloud of dust.....then every now and then when your loaded up to stop the run...BOOM ...play action over the top...touchdown!! Todays fans love to see the spread offense just move up and down the field......their very flashy.
All that spread chit works on teams without exceptional d backs and poor containment on the line. When your d backs can cover the long pass well and your d line can keep the qb from running the spread option is dead. The regular spread passing game gets shut down by a tough pass rush and good coverage. Lots of teams that spread the field don't have good running games. Last year even drew breese couldn't make up for the lack of a running game for the saints in the playoffs. If you can't run you can't win. By spreading the field with four receivers you take away from the running game because you have no tight ends to help block. Spread teams still have to run the ball to win. Running isn't always fun to watch but if you can run the ball you will be in every game. Last year we couldn't pass for chit but our running game was stellar and kept us in every game.
I love it when the Tigers line up in the straight, old fashioned I-formation. Heck, not even many NFL teams use it anymore.
