You can cut defense funding and still supply the troops with everything they need.

Oh believe me there's ALWAYS an objective, regardless of what people back home may think.

What I believe is irrelevant. The war on terror will continue. These people, these "jihadists", will not stop fighting. These people have been fighting for thousands of years. We'll continue to throw money at the war effort, we'll continue to engage the enemy.

When I was there, most of the afghanis we spoke to were decent people. They just wanted to live life. Some wanted our help, some wanted us gone. They are a very passionate, God fearing people. As they should be, most of them are on ancient and holy lands.

For someone to say that this war has no objective is ludacrous. I understand people's complaints about the economy, the federal budget and deficit, and where lots of the taxpayer's money is funneled, but make no mistake about it there IS an objective.

Our government will not tell us everything they know, they can't, we'd fall into anarchy if we knew everything they know. With that being said, there are always political agendas tied into every single war that we enter. This is human history. Whether if it's resources, retaliation for unprovoked attacks, or whatever the case may be, there's ALWAYS an objective. We just may not see it. Or believe the stories fed to the media by the White House.

All of the people who were murdered on 9/11, and all of our soldiers who died overseas (some of whom were my friends), will have died in vain if we do not complete this mission. We cannot walk away now.

The objective is to remove Afghanistan from use as a base by our enemies.

The US should stop supporting Israel's oppression of the Palestinians and the Muslims would be happy to leave us alone.

As much as I would like to believe that, I feel that their hatred for the US runs much deeper than just because we dumped a bunch of Jews on their doorstep.

Well, if you can find an example of any country that is targeted by terrorists for no reason then I would change my mind.

There has to be a grievance....the only grievance the Arabs/muslims have with America is the US policy of supporting Israel. Other than that we should actually be good business partners....they have oil and we need oil.

The Chinese/Japanese/Brazilians/Russians aren't being targeted by Muslim terrorists. The Russians sometimes have terrorist attacks but as I understand it those are more independece movements within Russia. They aren't some part of some pan-Arab crusade.

Anyway, that is my main point about these issues.....the Muslims aren't trying to take over the world. They are trying to rid their homeland (or what they see as their homeland) of foreign imperialist influence. I don't blame them. When is the last time some Muslim guy blew up a bus in Rio? The Muslims couldn't give a damn what happens in Rio....how come they don't hate the Brazilians for "their freedoms"? I've never been to Rio but I've heard stories there is a whole lot of "freedom" going on down there.

The Muslims hate America because we back Israel 100%....and we do it at the expense of the Palestinians.
