me happy too!!! true, parity is prevalent this year. that's what i was thinking that maybe had bama curb stomped tenn by 20 maybe fans wouldn't be on cloud 9 so much. of course we've had more wins like that this season than bama. i'm just hoping that the trending of their level of play and ours keep moving in the same direction. that south carolina game was 13-6 game until the waning minutes. that game was in t town. bama struggled against tenn in t town. more of that please!! coaching improved by leaps and bounds this week, starting with the absence of the meer kat like crip said. a few execution things that could be improved upon like drops but overall not bad at all. i question AU's role as a formidable (sp?) opponent. since i've been alive i think every win over auburn is a good one but there may be something about LSU beating AU 3 years in a row the 1st time since the 30's being more about where AU is right now over where we are. we still have a really young QB (who's improving every week btw) but the o line play coupled with the lack of running the ball effectively still has me a bit worried. finally changes were made scheme wise to allow JJ to get rid of the ball quicker and as we saw, it worked well and i think the florida game helped him come of age a little. he needed that big game atmosphere that a chik fil a bowl or a trip to seattle just doesn't touch. the game in athens was great but both AU and UGA are not the teams they were the rest of this decade. i'm not making bama to be this goliath of a team i guess my concern is more with if we do beat them, people have pencilled us in for atl and that's just crazy because i believe in the flow of a season being influential on wins and losses and can totally see us beating bama then dropping the ole miss/arky game. i know miles will have the team ready to play our upcoming opponents and hopefully the team itself will focus on the task at hand. :miles:
To be fair to us all – being negative or pumping sunshine is what fans do – the driving force behind being a fan is emotion. Most of us get real optimistic (and somewhat unrealistic at times) when we win or win big. Likewise most of us are very disappointed and negative when we lose. It is part of being a fan and enjoying the game. All the opinions and second guessing and prognostication we see and hear on TV, radio and on the web are nothing more than fuel for our emotional fire. For me, I love visiting a site like TF because we can be somewhat anonymous, if we so choose, and posts like we really are experts at college football in addition to whatever it is we do in real life. We do it because it is fun and it helps that emotional fire to be a part of the LSU Tigers. All that said, I’m damn glad the LSU Coaches finally viewed TF and took our advice on how to get the offense going – it is about time they listened to us. Now if we could just get Nick to realize he is overachieving down Tuscaloosa (Shula’s players can’t be that good) and really should just mail in the remainder of the season – and get the Ole Miss players to realize they really aren’t very good, and Nutt just has them playing way above what they are capable of and we all know that will eventually make them sterile - and the LSU Coaching staff just keeps plugged in to TF so they will know exactly what to do each week (maybe Brett should look into getting a live feed to the sideline for each game - but only after he finds time to change the banner) – then this Tiger team might turn out to be the best we’ve seen yet. Geaux Tigers. ldskule:
The SEC championship game is 5 Dec 2009, I think that is 6 weeks away but there is game this week, next week, week after that, etc.
Hatcher, That's one of the funniest videos EVER! Thank you for taking the time to bring a big smile and many chuckles to this Tiger fan. I think the team would love it, too. Some Tiger fans are hard to figure...bi-polar is a great description. We either stink or we're winning the MNC. Probably, we're a year away from being in the big game again...although you never can tell...but I think we have to give Coach Miles and his assistants some credit assuming that this team continues to improve because they've taken an inexperienced QB and have the team at 5-1 after playing the no. 1 team in the country and we still have the opportunity to win it all...when you add that to a defense that is learning a new system...frankly, I think we've done pretty good. It's amazing to me that so many fans think we must/should win the MNC every year...please...Coach Miles continues to recruit well and attract good assistant coaches and he's made some changes this year...as fans, we all should be happy where we sit now but realize there's an awfully big mountain still to climb. Go Tigers!:miles::crystal:
Yeah. What's wrong with these fans? All pessimistic when we are playing bad and then optimistic when we play good? Totally crazy! :dis:
it's worse this year than most. the extremes on both sides are growing and the reasonable people in the middle are becoming the minority. it's the reason i hate talking politics. i was hoping to keep it out of my sports.
