If this is discussed somewhere else let me know I will delete it. But how did the number 1 center in the nation from not get an offer from LSU. More so since he is from Destrahan... Ethan Hutson - Yahoo! Sports Just curious as I was digging around Rivals.
Numbers basically... The #1 Center is about the 6th or 7th OL in the state and we can't take them all especially in a numbers crunch. There are a lot of great players in LA this year who would likely be in this class any other year without a numbers crunch or a position stacked like OL this year. I heard LSU didn't even contact him and you can't blame them with the guys committed and the other top prospects in state on the OL and others around the country higher on our board. Probably have room for 1 more and that is hopefully filled by Greg Robinson and I would say Jonah Austin would be our fallback plan. I like his aggressiveness but is going to be a penalty machine if not tempered.
I know experience at the center position helps, but it would be nice to see better physical specimens at OG, OT, switched to this position fairly often. I know we plan on putting Cameron Fordham (I believe that is the name) a TE at center. Perhaps it is more a matter of Center not being a very popular position, dunno. I know the current view is that the guy at Center should be a little more agile, shorter, smaller, but call me a non-believer.
