it was the exact same thing last year. No. 5 Houston v. No. 4 Utah the only road team to win any game was Utah in Game 7. I really want to be 2 seed and face Dallas/Denver, but it will be hard to go that high, even if we're just 1 game back and have tiebreakers on SA and LAL.
Utah will be fine on the road in the playoffs, book it. All healthy and tearing it up. I bet they will take the last few games easy and rest up for the playoffs. IMO the Jazz will return to the Western Finals. I want Houston or the Suns.
you WANT the Suns? aka the hottest team in the West? they murder you in 5 games, home boy. They better than utah at PG, PF and center with washes at SG and SF.
PG even with Nash and Utah has taken the series and Suns are not the hottest team in the west IMO, the Hornets are. Utah is playing better than the Suns and I think they will sputter in the playoffs. Just watch and you can argue with me if we lose but it will not be in 5 games. If the Jazz lose it will be in 7 against anyone.
I just don't buy the Jazz hype that everyone is spitting. It's not that I have anything against them, because I will cheer for them when Houston is eliminated for some new blood, but I just don't think they're better than they were last year. I still think when push comes to shove in a playoff setting: Fisher > Brewer They did make the conference finals last year, but let's not get it twisted, that had more to do with an 8th seed winning than anything. Both Phoenix and San Antonio would have waxxed them had they been the 1 seed. Having the curse of Charles Barkley doesn't help, either. I also don't buy that they will suddenly become a good road team in the playoffs, either. They were 2-7 on the road in the playoffs last year.
I didn't know the Jazz were getting hyped because that is rare if so. I know Barkley picked us all star weekend and I am not happy about it. Our road losses game in the 3rd month of the season when the Jazz were hurting health wise. We won 3 or 4 games that month and attributed for more than a quarter of our road losses. We have also have a great record against the top teams in the league and subpar against the weaker teams so we won't have to worry about that as much. They have the team and ability to steal games on the road in the playoffs and one per series might be enough with the Jazz only losing 4 games at home this year. The Jazz also have a history of playing their best ball at the end of the regular season and into the playoffs. BTW, Korver and Brewer > Fisher
you'd be surprised, bro... a lot of my friends I made in New Orleans and now here in Tampa think of world of ole Utah. I do have to say, though, because you said this of Houston during our streak. You can't take much of anything about how Utah is playing right now. Every game is at home and 80% of them against far inferior competition. @ Chicago @ Milwaukee @ Boston @ New Jersey Toronto LAL Seattle Charlotte Clippers @ Minnesota Washington Minnesota San Antonio in the last 13 games. They do close the season against 6, straight west playoff teams, though, so if they stay hot, they will be really rolling into the playoffs. and if they don't, I'm sure you'll be a good fan and discount it as "rest" like you did earlier in the thread.
