the Lakers have to worry about the Jazz in rd. 2 if they're the 1 seed. and the Rox have to play the spurs in rd. 2 if we're the 2 or 3 seed. Nothing is a given in the West.
Longest streaks in NBA history: 71-72 Lakers 33 70-71 Bucks 20 99-00 Lakers 19 07-08 Rockets 18 They will win their next 3, therefore taking over sole possession of 2nd place all time...not bad
Adelman has had 3 16-game streaks with 3 diff teams. Remember in a diff thread when someone tried to say JVG was better than he was? Nevermind, I won't go into that.
I missed the games tonight but it looked like it was a good one. Where was West, what kind of injury does he have? Side note: The Jazz destroyed the Nuggets tonight by 27 and were up by 37 at one point. Get ready for the greatest playoffs in NBA history, it is up for grabs.
The nuggets are such a waste. they have so much talent and so many guys who just refuse to play defense. West has an ankle injury (i think?). Regardless, it's not serious.
I was always neutral toward the Hornets. but I now look forward to them losing in the 1st round of the playoffs and will cheer against them the rest of the season. I mentioned in the game pbp I gave how the Hornets were crybabies and contested every foul, etc... even when it was unquestionably a foul. Well, Rafer Alston is our PG. He has bad blood with the Hornets b/c of a little scuffle with Crybaby Chandler back in the N.O. Following the game, our guys were celebrating and Chandler apparently had to be restrained from trying to go after Alston for "celebrating." Being it was a home game and a history-making win (4th longest win streak of all time) and a win that moved us into the 3 seed, I don't care if they cut down the f'in nets. Go into the locker room and prepare for your next loss, Tyson. (against San Antonio). Then... the baby crybaby, CP3 said when asked about Alston's role in the win-streak. "I wish I could be half as good as him one of these days in the NBA," Paul said, "since he thinks he's so great." Give me a f'in break. Less crying and whining and a little more winning. Let us not forget, Mr. Paul, oh great one, that you haven't ever even been to the playoffs. Mr. Williams, whom you were supposed to be so much better than has been to the Conference Finals. Byron Scott is one of the classiest players/coaches in all of the NBA, no doubt. But he is stuck with Compton crybaby at center and a cheap-shotting, nut-puncher at PG. End of rant. But I now officially dislike the Hornets.
I will give you Chandler. He needs to shut it most of the time and just play ball but CP3 is in no way what you described. Does it really surprise you that Alston rubs people the wrong way?
so what. Rafer Alston is a douche-bag. But he is a douche-bag who is playing real well right now. The question was "How much does Rafer shooting from the perimeter help the Rockets accomplish what they are trying to do?" No reason to take a unconditional shot at him. Rafer may jaw a lot himself, but can't say he isn't backing it up. Dude had 20 pts. There are a few rules that men just don't break... ever... no matter how high the stakes and no matter what is done/said. CP3 has already broken one of them in the ACC Tourny 3-4 years back, taking a clean shot to someone's testicles. Not saying he is a bad person. He just has some growing up to do if he wants to win at a high level, because they proved last night what I had been thinking for a while: that when they were playing a big-time team on the road down the stretch, they will crumble and start pointing fingers.
