Better for LSU? Florida or South Carolina victory?

I guess it does matter a wee bit-

If Florida wins out, gets to the Champ game and we beat them, we don't get a quality point anyway, because they would be 9-4. Maybe ranked 15 or so with 4 losses (which is still pretty good).

If U South Car. beats Fla that puts UGA and Tenn in the tie giving UGA the Champ game if they win out, and no extra quality points regardless. I think Tenn seems like a better opponent in the Champ Game.

So I guess I hope Tenn, Fla, and UGA win out and they pick Tenn. And by beating Tenn, Tenn stays in the Top ten BCS for some quality points.

I guess thats how it would work best for us? Any thoughts.

Florida is ahead of us in two computer polls. So, if they lose it is good for us. I don't think there is anyway florida catches up with ut and uga in the bcs rankings, so forget about playing them in the championship game. We just need to hope for auburn to beat uga so we can play tenn. The only chance for us to get quality win points for uga to lose now, and somehow crawl back into the top 10.

I agree, but I wonder if all of them winning out would improve our SOS enough, and would that make a difference? Go Vols...er...uh, I guess.

Now, this may be the world's most stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway. Since Oklahoma is so far ahead in the BCS rankings, is it conceivable that they could lose in the championship game and still be BCS ranked ahead of the the team that beat them, LSU for example? If so, that would be the end of the BCS.

The coaches poll must vote the winner of the title game #1. The AP can pick anyone they want, if I'm correct.

So, final BCS scoring has no bearing on the final #1?

Not in the AP poll. In the ESPN/coaches poll, the one with the Circuit City trophy (formerly Sears Trophy) you always see on ESPN, it does. The coaches poll, however, is recognized as the true NC these days. The AP poll used to be more prestigious, but that has changed since the BCS crap began.
