I've never bought tickets as a non-student. When I was a kid, I was given tickets a couple times, I had season tix as a student (04-07), and I've snuck in with a student ticket and another students ID a couple times since (shhh!!!). Now that I am supposedly a responsible adult, and married to boot, I figure I should find more legal methods to gain entry to the game.

What's the best way to get a couple of individual game tickets? I'd like to go to the Arkansas game since I will be in town for Thanksgiving. Any help is appreciated.

Yeah just walk around the stadium, or if you have a facebook account i use the market place to get tickets the students sell. You can normally get them for face value 12 or 15 bucks i think. I would do this so my gf could sit in the student section with me, all you have to do is go to the athletic building and up grade them to general admission. The Arkansas game is always easy to find tickets for b/c its right around Thanksgiving and a low number of students don't attend that game. You should have no problem getting tickets.

If you do this, upgrade as early as you can. They have set a limit on how many student tickets can be upgraded, and they might (For arkansas, probably not) run out.

they only allow 500 upgrades per game.

They will NOT allow any upgrades for the Florida and Auburn games.

On Dalrymple between the parade grounds and the indian mounds, esp between 9am and noon (before the road is blocked at the intersection with Infirmary). I've found that motorists coming in at that time/location want to part with extra tickets with no hassle and usually are not interested in profit. Of course this was 2-3 years ago.... Anyway, my point is start early.

Tickets are always available outside the stadium, but for really big games they are scarce and expensive. Less than face value for some out of conference games, though. If the ticket boys are working the parking lots, tickets are plentiful, shop around.

Start looking early and you can sometimes actually upgrade a time or two. Some of the fat cats, especially corporations, have extra tickets for almost every game. A friend of mine has had success for years just standing at the gates where the upscale seats are and politely asking if anyone has spare tickets. He's dressed nicely, its usually just him and sometimes his wife, and he invariably gets a ticket for a really good seat. Sometimes they just give it away! These guys don't care about the money, they just don't want to sit by some yahoo or barner who bought a ticket in the parking lot. A couple of nice tiger fans ready to walk into the game? Sure, they have a couple of extra tickets.

In high school, my best friend and I used to go to the saints games by trying to buy tickets outside the stadium (Tulane, then the dome).

I noticed a paradox about availability of tickets. When the game was sold out ahead of time, it was often easy to get the tickets because all the people looking for them thought it would be impossible to get them since it was a sellout and stayed home. Games that were close to a sellout because of a good matchup attracted everyone and their grandmas to the game and the tickets were harder to get because of the increased demand for them.

This was New Orleans and not Tiger Stadium...I've never bought tickets there before...the paradox may not exist there.

For the life of me, I can't understand why scalping is illegal...it's purely a function of supply and demand. There's no theoretical difference between the stock exchange and the parking lot of the dome.

For the big games just wait by the South Endzone gate you might have to take the chance and wait right up until kickoff but you will find someone.

2 years ago 2 friends did that and got tickets to the Florida game for face value because the guy had friends that did not show and it was 5 mintues until kickoff

Any game this year should be cheap but Florida and / or Auburn.

If we are both undefeated going into the UF game stay home and save yourself about $250-$500 for a ticket.
