best team in the country imo is florida. again. unfortunately. i thought most of you had learned the WVAs of the world are not proven despite their records in that joke of a conference.
Best team in the country is LSU, hands down. But the question is, can we play at a level we're capable of? That has been questionable this year, since we've played almost every opponent to their level of play.
Haha, thanks for the corrections guys. I have no idea.. what I was thinking/typing. I'll go fix those up. USC has 1 quality win. One. WVU has 2 quality wins IMO.
I wondered how long it would be before someone suggested Georgia... The way they've been playing lately, I'd put them against any of the teams that have been mentioned thusfar... Not having the SEC Championship weighs heavily against them, but that's just the way the chips fell this season. They turned it on late, unfortunately it was a little too late.
It's a moving target this year, n'est-ce-pas? Most schools get their injuries late, we got ours early and it cost us big time. Booty playing injured is one reason we lost to Furd but our Oline was decimated, down to 3rd and 4th stringers at that point. When we had 4th and goal at the end of the 1st half and came away with zero, it was defining. We had put Havili (FB) in as the only back and they had 8 in the box. Our inexperienced guard misread the D and went the wrong way leaving his man open to stop Havili. Sanchez did an admirable job against Oregon but we were unable to open the playbook because he didn't have the game experience and Dixon is Dixon. Costly penalties were also killers. Right now USC is playing their best ball of the year. Still not sure if it makes us #1. I have no problems with either Mizzou or WV. I haven't seen enough of them (only one game a piece) to say no anyway. Even OSU should get consideration despite their in state OOC cupcake plan.
Having watched Chase Daniel right "next door" since he was a soph at South LAke Carroll and 2 time Tx 5A POY, I would say Missouri, CD, makes every player around him play at a higher level. He is a Jacob Hester (personality also) size guy that plays QB and does not know how to lose. I predict they blow Opew into the last century, and then play for it all. Texas has Ryan Perrilloux to thanks for him being at Missouri and not Texas. If he had been at Texas, Colt McCoy would be somewhere else by now.:geaux:
I would love for us to play Missouri next year, so that Perrilloux can beat his a$$, kind of like JaMarcus beating Quinn's a$$. Im just sick of hearing this guy repeating the same story over and over again.
Very tough question. This is why we need a playoff. Here's what I would do, if this whole B(C)S situation were my problem to solve: 1st take my 6 conference champions: and we'll assume a little here: Oklahoma or Mizzou - Big 12, Ohio St - Big 10, LSU- SEC, WV - Big East, USC - PAC 10, and Boston College or Va Tech - ACC Champ. Then I'd take the next two highest ranked teams - Georgia and Kansas probably .... here we go! Game #1 WV (Big East Champ) vs Kansas (at large bid) in any neutral site Bowl game Game #2 Ohio St (Big 10 Champ) vs Georgia (at large bid) in any neutral site Bow Game #3 LSU (SEC Champ) vs Boston College / Va Tech (ACC Champ) in a neutral site bowl Game $4 USCw (Pac 10 Champ) vs OU/Mizzou (Big 12 Champ) in a neutral site Bowl Game 5: Game 1 winner vs Game 4 winner in the Orange Bowl Game 6: Game 2 winner vs Game 3 winner in the Fiesta Bowl Game 7: The next 2 highest ranked teams play (not involved in playoff) in the Rose Bowl (Hawaii, Florida, Mizzou/OU loser, etc Game 8: game 5 and Game 6 winners meet at the Sugar Bowl- for the National Championship This playoff does several things- 1) Gives 8 deserving teams a chance. 2) The way it is set up, would ensure that you could NOT have 2 teams from the same conference in the championship game. 3) utilizes all 4 major BCS Bowls. 4) Decides the NC......ON THE FIELD!!! There are numerous ways to skin this cat, but the bottom line is this: WE NEED A PLAYOFF!!!
