My favorite was the Doritos commercial with the crystal ball. Guy getting hit in the jewels was classic. Actually i think The Doritos ads as a whole were the best.
the bud commercials probably have gone too cute (they are chick commercials now) but i did like the "aint no mountain high enough" with the clydsdale commercial. the doritos commercial was funny. i really liked the pedigree "adopt a dog" commercial. i had no idea where that was going till the very end, or what it was "selling". i also liked the coke commercial that was a spoof of the old "mean joe green" commercial. it was all warm and fuzzy, then took a turn that i thought was pretty funny. a great mix of nostalgic and new. i missed a lot of commercials, unfortunately. the pepsi commercial that was a mcguyver spoof irritated the crap out of me. i thought that one was beyond bad.
What?? The Bridgestone ad was the BEST! Driving around on the moon in a dunebuggie with House of Pain cranked up! Get out collect some moon rocks get back to the buggie and its up on blocks! That was great! And Okie the MacGruber spoof was a skit that they did on Saturday Night Live about a month ago they just added the Pepsi crap tonight. Oh and speaking of Pepsi the first one they had wasnt bad UNTIL they compared John Belushi to Jack Black WHAT THE ****!?!?
I liked the Polamalu spot for Coke Zero, the Pedigree spot and the Denny's spot with the mobsters. But overall, nothing this year that will stick in anyone's memory, IMO.
Arby's must be hurt'n. All these nice high def ads and they show a standard definition turd run straight from their current cycle.
Bridgestone was money this year. I like that commercial, but I thought the Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head one was absolutely awesome!
I was hosting around 30 people at my house in a Super Bowl party that just wouldn't stop growing, so I was back and forth to the kitchen a lot. They actually rewound for the Doritos commercial for me. That was my favorite. The second was the Mean Joe Green knock-off. One of the guys at my party said, "How long ago was that Mean Joe Green commercial? 20 years?" I replied, "Try 30." I think that made him feel old, but it's obviously true, as I can remember seeing that when I was in elementary school.
It's nice to see the ladies in the kitchen making sure the event was one to remember by all in attendance. Gentlemen, a toast for the ladies. :thumb:
