Not me, I want a high powered offense AND an elite level defense. Certainly they are not mutually exclusive!
I know, right? Just can't seem to have both simultaneously. Dominating D, one dimensional O. Historically good offense, and the defense takes a step back. Hopefully, after the bye and Utah St game, we'll get some folks back healthy, we'll start putting it together and make this a special season. Buckle your chinstrap..
Our defensive staff needs to work hard on proper tackling techniques in the next two weeks. Missed tackles is going to eat us alive in the upcoming SEC schedule.
LSU's NCAA passing rank now vs. past 5 years: 2019: 432 yards per game (No. 2) 2018: 229 yards per game (No. 67) 2017: 204 yards per game (No. 84) 2016: 190 yards per game (No. 101) 2015: 180 yards per game (No. 106) 2014: 163 yards per game (No. 116) For those counting
Although a high powered offense that scores quickly like ours does affect the defense adversely, there is no avoiding that. I mean do we really care all that much had we won 66-24 over Vandy? I'm taking away the stupidity that happened just before the half and the ridiculousness of the refs not to call targeting on the pick 6. I mean are we really having this conversation that the scoring defensively looked a lot worse than it really was had we not given them 14 points?
But but but Ensminger did a bang up job as interim in 2016, setting all kinds of records. I mean I heard that on the internets.
