Yeah, probably so since you explain like that.

I was having a discussion with a friend of mine...(Bama fan)...about how LSU is the premier program in the SEC right now...and I was basing it on a period of time since 2000. I didn't look up the record, but considering both Miles' and Saban's success...surely LSU has one of the best records in the country over that span.

That's why I don't get the hype about USC. They have one :crystal: , we have one :crystal: . Of course, they can claim the AP title in '03, but with our two top 5 finishes in a row, it all kinda evens out. If we should win out this year, I say we seperate ourselves a bit from them or anyone else in this time span.

I agree completely with that assessment. I've been saying there are a lot of parallels tween us and winning it all this year could do just what you said. What feeds the hype is their program history is richer and they've won a lot more NC's than us but we live in the here and now so I wouldn't trade places.

LSU does have a great record.........and so does USC. It's all good. Since 2003, USC won the NC and then went back to the big dance in 2006 only to lose to VY. We were one game away from returning to the NC game last season. Sure there's some media hype but it's not completely unfounded.

Had we not tanked it against the Furd, USC would have won/shared their 6th Pac10 Championship in a row, not to mention setting several records in the process.

Enjoy your success and don't worry about "other" teams.

conference and/or national championships of the above coaches?

I think there is one that stands out with zero.

I was just trying to lure you into the discussion so I could look at Gabrielle again.:hihi:

Seriously, I understand what you're saying...but I wanna make sure YOU understand what I'M saying. You speak of last year...being ony 1 game away from the MNC game...so were we. We just happened to lose OUR 1 game away from the MNC earlier than ya'll did. We both...if I'm not mistaken...ended the season 11-2. We finished #3...ya'll #4. My point was that LSU is never mentioned in the "premier programs" discussions. Ya'll are, along with tOSU, UF, OU, et al. If we win the :crystal: , in the time frame I mentioned in my earlier post...we should be MORE highly regarded...having won 2 :crystal: , along with other top 5 finishes in the time frame. I don't think anyone has won 2 :crystal: .

What SEC team or other team is LSU's most bitter rival?
