Tiger faithful, I have a question for all of you. I, along with a bud, will be in NO on the Sunday and Monday nights. We unfortunately do not have tickets to the game. I would love to go but just can't right now. Anyway, where would be the best place to watch the game from (not counting the Dome). We're staying near the french quarter and will hanging around Bourbon for most of the time but, a little travel time wouldn't hurt. We're trying to watch it somewhere within travel (without vehicles) distance. Thanks for the help.LSU! LSU! LSU! :crystal: :crystal: :crystal:

Well, the football team is staying at the Marriott on Canal (very tall Marriott near Bourbon, you can't miss it). They stayed here last time also. Presumably, the band will also stay here. There are a number of hotels with bars along Canal that will (probably) be showing the game. The Marriott will be difficult to get into on game day if you're not staying there though. In 2003, at least after the game you couldn't get in without a wristband.

There's also a number of bars along Decatur in the French Quarter, including Hooters. I'm sure it'll be packed, but you should be able to watch the game there. Also in the area near Hooters are Cowboy Ugly and Bubba Gump, but I've never been to either.

For those of you looking for a good place to watch the game close to the Dome this will be the best place to go.

I stopped by before the 2003 NC game and it was a blast.

BTW, I am not affiliated with this party and I am not a spammer.

2 blocks from the Dome on Poydras and a $20 donation at the gate. They have a huge projection screen.

I have seen that they have moved their location like 3 times in the past two days. If you look at their PDF and their main page they say 2 different things. I also called the # on their page for more info and it had been disconnected. I would be careful, but I am sure there are free places to see the game that are doing the same thing. At least that way you can spend your $20 on BEER!

The Hooters near the quarter didn't reopen after the hurricane.

They had to change the location. The new location is closer to the dome. He had to update the changes, the pages now have the same location. The number has not been disconnected. Be careful of what? Beer is included for the $20 admission, 100 kegs (food as well).

Well, it is not the biggest place and it does not have lots of big flat panel screens, but my personal favorite bar for sports and drinking in the French Quarter is the Absinthe House at the corner of Bourbon and Bienville.

Have a drink at the round bar, watch the game - always a good time.
The restaurant is on the premises is also very good – Tony Moran’s.
Best of all, it made it through Prohibition and several hurricanes so I feel confident it will be there on Jan. 7th.

100 kegs will not go very for with 3000 people? That is about 1 beer per person.

100 x 15.5 gallons / 3000 people = .517 gallons per person. Some will drink more, many will not.
