I am working on a countdown about the top 50 NCAA dunks of all time. I figured I would start a thread seeing what everyone considers the best LSU dunk of all time and perhaps some of you could help me get more dunks for the countdown. I will start things off with Shaq's dunk over the defender's head vs McNeese State. Here is the video in high quality (the audio is from another Shaq dunk) http://www.sendspace.com/file/blh37z So, just list your favorite LSU dunks and add a video link if possible.
David Thompson This is not a dunk, but its incredible for a guard to block Bill Walton. David Thompson from N. Carolina State was one of the most amazing athletes I have seen. Check out this block: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whIPLxAXGc4 Remember, you're watching a 6' 4" guard: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dhsoRKK1pI I forgot that the slam dunk was ILLEGAL in college BB back then, no wonder no college video of amazing dunks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fPX_skXl-o
Darrell Griffith - Dr. Dunkenstein Too bad this was against us, but this guy was some good also. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bAkaSw_sYY This rating puts Griffith #1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLIhMCl_uYE&feature=related
Both those guys had some pretty great dunks considering their size and the times when they played. Thanks for the help.
I am sure Tyrus Thomas will be a popular choice with his array of dunks. However, the one dunk I will never forget was Jabari Smith against #1 Arizona right before Halftime where the center faked a pass behind his back and went for a one-handed throwdown. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4obT8ipIsoI
Whoa that behind the back was incredible. What team was he dunking over in the last clip, where he kneed the defender in the chest?
TT off the alley oop from Temple vs. Arkansas. Incredible height. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldgQbvC_tfg
Yeah, I've always liked that oop by Thomas. His head was easily level with he rim. Does any one have the Jabari Smith dunk against Alabama on DVD? That dunk was incredible.
Nobody dunked like Dewayne Scales at LSU. Shaq only had a power dunk. Scales wasn't called "The Astronaut" for nothing. He had a dozen flashy dunks but the most impressive was a running windmill dunk where he took off at the foul line and made a giant one-handed overhead slam.
