Both are great choices. I have to add '04 USCw. They destroyed a pretty good (undefeated) OU team that year, and played in the title game the next year '05.... and we all remember where they finished in '03. 1992 Alabama - their Defense allowed something like 122 points in 13 games. :crystal: :geaux: :crystal: :geaux: :crystal:
Hard for me to decide but I would pick the 95 Nebraska team over the 71 Nebraska team just because of Tommie Fraizer.
95 Nebraska - we must remember they defeated a fantastic Florida team by some 40+ points in the championship game 04 USC - same thing against OU, although I would say the 95 Florida team was better than the 04 OU team 01 Miami - so many NFL stars on that team 96 Florida - went undefeated in the SEC (as did the 95 team)
06 Boise State and 80 or 81 Notre Dame w/ Montana.... AND the 59 LSU Tigers. :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
Funny you should mention that team. I watched the '71 Orange Bowl just a few weeks ago. It was one of those games that was a lot closer (stat wise) than the score indicated. All I can say about that team is they had one hell of a special teams unit. That's a team that doesn't even belong in this conversation, IMO.
Since I dont count or believe in football during the pre intergration era. Not that those guys werent great football players, I just believe they werent playing against the best competition. I am going with 01' Miami and 05' USC, Matt Leinart was ridiculously good, despite Reggie Bush being the team. Leinart was the key to that season.
