MY VOTE IS FOR THE 90-91 ALABAMA DEFENSE ABSOLUTELY AWESOME BLANKED MIAMI IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The Bear's 78-79 team was no slouch, either. Joe Pa could still be running dives into the line and coming up empty.
1961 Alabama defense gets my vote. Outscored it's opponents 297-25. Had 6 shutouts. Didn't allow more then 7 points in any game. The Bear's 1st NC team at Bama.
'92 Bammers ....122 points allowed in 13 games (9.8 per) Bamma gave up 21 points 2 times that yr '03 LSU ... 154 points allowed in 14 games (11 per) We gave up 24 points to Arkansas and 19 points in a loss to UF. No one else scored more than 14 pts vs '03 LSU D. Both pretty tough Defenses. :crystal: :champs: :crystal: :champs: :crystal:
That was a great defense, but my vote is for General Neyland’s 1939 Vol team. In the regular season they did not allow a point scored against them. The out scored opponents 212 to 0. They did lose to Southern Cal by 14 to 0 in the 1940 Rose Bowl. But in the regular season they pasted LSU 20 to 0; Bama 21 to 0; among others.
