I had heard a few months ago they were opening a Bud's Broiler in Baton Rouge. Google gives the address as 4343 Nicholson. I know where I'm going for lunch tomorrow.
So many burgers could be elevated a huge amount just by being served on a toasted ciabatta bun instead of the standard mushy bread that most come with.
If you toadt the regular bun it won't be mushy. I hate these place that charge $10 for a burger and serve it on some kind of "artisanal" bread. You can't spell artisanal without being anal.
Bud's isn't open yet. Had a sign on the door saying waiting for inspection. Didn't see a date when they are opening. It's on the corner of Nicholson and Jennifer Jean where there used to be a Rotolo's.
Best burger is in my back yard next to a cold Shiner, watching my antelope graze in the pasture. That's America... right there.
Buds lives off their reputation. They may not be the best, but they're very satisfying and charcoal cooked. I almost always get the number 4 with sauce and onions.
Bud's in BR opened yesterday. I got the #6 with sauce. Frankly, I was disappointed. The patty was one of those mass produced pre-made patties that was dry and had no flavor other than a slight smoky taste. The bun was a good consistency that held together and the shredded cheese is a lot better than the processed slice most places put on a cheeseburger. I did ask for the onions to be grilled but they were raw on my burger. The patty was no different from the one I got at a Dairy Queen the other day. I used to like DQ burgers but they changed them a few years ago. Only reason I went to DQ was because they have Orange Julius.
