    And we are saying Bernie Sanders is trying to make it legal to sue someone frivolously with the chance to win?

    You are finally catching on. He was against it and has an acceptable voting record on gun rights but now he has flip-flopped and has adopted the same position as Broomhillary

    You cant sue Dewalt because you put a hole in your hand. If you could I'd be a rich mofo. I've done plenty of "electrical " work that quickly turned into "welding" and now don't have a curly hair on my body. My lack of knowledge about current doesn't entitle me to a suit against GE

    You can still sue Dewalt and GE. You just don't have any chance to win. You can sue a theater if you don't like the movie. You won't win but you have the right to sue.

    This is how it works - or will work in the post Hilary presidency
    If the gun malfunctions, blows up and kills you; you deserve nothing. Its your karma hit for owning a piece of evil.
    However in this scenario
    • lets say you drop the gun in mud
    • The clay dries in the barrel and forms a plug;
    • Then when you fire the gun at the target range it explodes;
    • The loud explosion startles the guy next to you and;
    • He has a heart attack and dies
    Then the gun maker will be closed down for making an instrument of heart attacks; and you will be given death by irony - a firing squad.

    I'm hypothesizing here but I think gun manufacturers get this protection because of the large amount of suits they could possibly face and the political nature of the suits. They are at a much higher risk of these types of suits. It's not uncommon for certain groups of people, or companies, to be protected against discrimination/liability/risk and others to not get those same protections. This is done because some people or companies don't need those protections as much as others so there's no need to waste time passing bills to protect people or companies who are at a very low risk of liability/discrimination.

    Think of it this way, we don't have as many laws protecting discrimination against white christian males because those are probably the people who are the least discriminated against. They are discriminated against, but not as often as others.

    Defective gun--the manufacturer is liable. Defective user--the manufacturer is not. If it is a gray area--that is what judges are for.

    They arent, not from a legitimate malfunction like the gun blowing up in your face. You can and should be able to sue for that.

    And I agree with that, I don't agree with some thug being able to sue Mossberg because a homeowner blasted him. But then again my point was I don't think Sue should be able to sue Coke because she is fat, or Randy should be able to sue a dildo manufacturer because it got stuck in his ass.
