I love Thorogood too. Saw him in December 1981 in the Dome, he opened for the Rolling Stones. His playing was amazing. The Neville Bros where there too. Damn..40 years ago..
Damn, Tap, we finally have something in common. I was at that show, too. The Stones should have been opening for George; he was that good. Was it the Neville Brothers or The Meters opening?
Cool! Completely agree on Thorogood. The Stones always seem hit or miss playing live. George owned that show, imo. It was the Neville Brothers. "For a mere @18.50, New Orleanians had the chance to be in the same "room" with the legendary British band. The "room" was filled, the show was a sell-out, and the 87,500 people who were there could boast of attending the largest indoor concert ever performed in the Untied States." http://www.neworleanspast.com/todayinneworleanshistory/december_5.html Interesting article, but misspelled Jimi Hendrix as "Jimmy Hendricks" Talk about reliving a memory! Found this avoit a year ago. 40 years ago this year, here is the entire Rolling Stones concert in the Dome, Dec 5, 1981, but Soundboard only. Unfortunately no Thorogood or the Nevilles. Honestly, amazed it's available. Under my thumb When the whip comes down Let's spend the night together Shattered Neighbours Black limousine Just my imagination Twenty flight rock Going to a go go Let me go Time is on my side Beast of burden Waiting on a friend Let it bleed You can't always get what you want Little T&A Tumbling dice She's so cold Hang fire Miss you Honky tonk women Brown sugar Start me up Jumping Jack flash Satisfaction
Thorogood didn't have a great voice nor the best guitar player but was a pure rocker one of the best ever.
I miss him,.. but we just don't know the deal,.. about 5 years ago I quit posting here for over a year, sometimes real life gets super rough,.. fingers crossed BB comes back soon
