Thanks, Tusk. That was old school football at its best. I really thought it would come down to special teams, but I was thinking it would be due to field position giving LSU more opportunities on a short field. Wing did his part, but Bama was able to dig its way out of every hole. At the other end, were you surprised Saban tried so many long FGs in the first half? I really thought on at least one of those he would go for it on fourth down.
the bama fan nation needs to elect you as president, because you seem to be the only real FOOTBALL fan. Hey if yall would have won, I know i would have congradulated you as well. thanks for the best wishes, and I'm already looking ready for the game next year! good luck, here's to hoping for a bama-lsu repeat SEC runs the nation!!!!
One of the long ones in the first half, I wish we had gone for field position instead. For the most part, we should expect our kickers to convert the field position we had. But sending Maze back out to field a punt after his ankle sprain was a bad, bad idea. When he tried to go back it was too late. Little things on field position and strategy mean a lot with these two teams.
I think you have one Bama forum in mind and is getting repeated quite a bit. A little too conservative for even me at times. Tigerfans has done a pretty good job of getting it right. Have some fun, even wolf a little, cause a little howling is at least half the fun of rooting on your team, but so is rebuttal and opposing viewpoints. With a little decorum and with some character on the side, that's not complicated, just hard for some to do. I think most everybody here has figured out a pretty good balance.
I forbid any Alabama responses on this forum for the next 6 seconds and I WILL BAN ANYBODY WHO VIOLATES IT! Thank you.
Nice sneak attack with the 2nd home bit. Just couldn't help it huh? It wouldn't bother me if it had some truth to it, but it means nothing, just another gump wishful thinking. Are you referring to the overall series record that goes back to 1895? My entire family (mom's side & dad's side) were still in Italy & France at that time! I love how you gump fans go back to the overall record! It's over! Bear, God rest his soul, is gone! If you want to talk recent times, LSU is 10-3 against the gumps! But I don't want to count Sabans record in that, so we'll just go with since Miles has been here, so let's look at the from 05' until 11' shall we: W 2005 @ gumpville LSU 16 gumps 13 W 2006 LSU 28 gumps 14 W 2007 @ gumpville LSU 41 gumps 34 L 2008 LSU 21 gumps 27 L 2009 @ gumpville LSU 15 gumps 24 *(see video of Ritter helping out the gumps with a game changing blown call! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFE5Ma2Vma0]Patrick Peterson Interception blown call Alabama - YouTube[/ame]) W 2010 LSU 24 gumps 21 W 2011 @ gumpville LSU 9 gumps 6 So Miles is 5-2 against the gumps, 3-2 against little Nicky, including 3-1 in gumpville. BTW, he would be 4-0 & 4-1 if Ritter hadn't blown that call. That was around bama's 35 yd line btw, & most of all, thanks to Tom Ritter you all were able to win the NCG, but I'm not going to cry over spilled milk. Last year, WON, this year in your house, WON! Don't come on here pretending to be humble while trying to slip in a cheap shot! Your words have 0 merit. And next year? Ptsshhh...we'll see what happens, but we have a QB with an arm like Brett Favre on the sidelines. I love JJ & JL, but they can't do what this kid can, & we'll still have 2 years left with him, same as McCarron. We'll save that debate for the spring though. As of right now, us LSU fans will continue to add topic after topic about out NCG run. Unlike the gumps, our talent matches our arrogance. Have fun in the sugar bowl vs. Boise St. Think it's going to be a pushover, check back to the 09' sugar bowl vs. the Utes (Utah beat them 31-17 for anyone that doesn't remember)!
The pre game atmosphere in Tuscaloosa was great...Just like TuskTimes' post, there was a lot of mutual respect in the air.
G'dam, I wish you wouldn't have posted that PP INT. ROBBED, man. Anyway, Tusk is cool. Save your venom for the others. Thanks for stopping by, Tusk. We were waiting to hear from you. IMO, you guys will probably deserve a shot at the BCSNCG, I would just rather not face you again this season if we don't have to.
Tusk your one of the good ones ! I know it's a hard Monday but you guys did get a full boat ride in 09 you can't have all the fun all the time ! take care and we are going to put it on Arky
Thanks Cliff, I would agree, to a point. Look forward to seeing how our team responds going forward. "To the victor goes the spoils." If LSU sticks to their knitting, they'll be OK coming down the home stretch. Geaux Tigers!!
