First chance to say congrats, AGAIN. LSU is a great team and played hard all night with a championship spirit. That's rare folks. Good things had to happen for either team to come out of this one and the Tigers made the commitment and succeeded. With or without the rematch, LSU deserves to represent the SEC and I hope you get it done. Sounds a little selfish, but I kinda felt Arky benefited so much last year from all the attrition created in the west division. Don't want to see that happen again, play em hard. No excuses, we will get you next year in our second home, but in the NOW, Geaux Tigers!!!!
Thanks! Although some would want more scoring I believe the nation saw what Saturday night in the SEC is all about. The crowd, atmosphere, athletes, etc, etc, etc was awesome! I don't see either team dropping off next year. We may very well see a similar game next season in Baton Rouge. With LSU, Alabama, & Arkansas in the top eight...the SEC is looking good for another title. These rankings could carry over to next year and the SEC could keep on rolling...........................
Way things are going dude, we may well see you again this season. #3 in the BCS. You guys deserve another shot after such a close game. Loathe as I am to do it, I have to root for OU now.
Tusk, you are a class act before and after the game. I enjoy your posts and your viewpoints on this forum. Winning this game is special to us older LSU fans for three reasons. 1. Over the life of the series, Alabama has always been our toughest oppponent as the series record indicates. 2. Alabama remained undefeated in Death Valley for a 30 year period from 1971-2001, going 14-0-1. (I still have a Ronnie Lewis voodoo doll from 1985 when he missed a 24 yard field goal for LSU to allow Alabama to escape with a 14-14 tie and continue the streak for another 14 years.) He was on the back of my mind as Drew Allemand lined up for the winning kick in overtime on Saturday. 3. Last but not least, little Nicky was treated like royalty when he was our coach. He helped LSU return to glory, but LSU made Nick Saban's reputation as well. Most of the Tiger faithful gave him a pass when he left for Miami because it was not considered a slight to LSU. However, when he came back to coach our toughest division rival one year later, we considered it a betrayal which will not be forgotten. It's like your wife divorces you and a year later you find that she's marrying your brother. Therefore we get immense pleasure when Les Miles exceeds Nick Saban as a gentleman, as a loyal coach to our school, and outcoaches little Nicky in huge games with national implications. We look forward to the day in the near future when Alabama has to add a bronze suitcase to little Nicky's statue when he pulls up stakes and moves on again. I will add that as much as I enjoy winning against the Tide, I respect their fans and their hospitality. Tuscaloosa is a hospitable place for LSU fans, much like Starkville and Oxford, MS. I'd love to see LSU dominate Stanford or Okie State in the BCS national championship, and Alabama cream Boise State in the Sugar Bowl. Geaux LSU, and Roll Tide. :tigereye:
Classy post Tusk. I posted this yesterday but I'll say it again for you. I hated to see one team have to lose that game. Bama and LSU are so far ahead of the field right now it's not close.
Well said Tusk. I love these old fashioned hardnosed SEC slugfests. Hats off to both teams for playing thier hearts out! Now go kick the dog shyt out of Boise in the Sugar bowl!!!!
Good job......appreciate you comming in here and sorta taking your medicine.....which is more than I can say for the rest of those sorry tide fans on your forum board which bans or suspends every tiger poster that tries to come on.....alot of those guys are just there to brag....but alot of them were also trying to say that it was a great game and Bama still has a great team....just that night lsu came out on top!!
