When do we just accept that we will never be at the caliber of an Alabama. That Saban set the bar so high and left us wondering what if. Do we give the keys to coach Orgeron? Do we find someone who can open up the offense like a Butch Jones? Yea look how good that's working out for Tennessee. Which brings up the question what makes this situation differ from Tennessees. They haven't been the same since Fulmer. Could we end up like Tennesssee in hopes of returning back to national prominence? I hope we find someone who fits and just stick with him. Could coach Eaux be that guy if given 5 years?
Geaux away and cheer for the gumps. We had those fuckers beat we just needed a more diverse offense which we could easily get with a decent OC and time.
Butch Jones? Lane Kiffen? I'd fire the AD with hires like that, but UT seems more like Nebraska than LSU. The only reason these programs would thrive today is superior coaching; from a recruiting perspective their geographic location leaves something to be desired and they continue to distance themselves from their legacy with time by not finding the right fit.
How much time has O had? Tough call to ask any interum coach to take over a team that Miles built and then ask for a diverse offense with a TE coach as your OC thrown into the job. What if O was given the job at tne end of last season with time to hire an OC and for a full off season to build his team his way? For what O has accomplished under these cicumstances I give him 4 years now.
O would not have been given the job at the end of last year. He got it because miles was let go. That's the only reason
Im not confident in Alleva to make the right decision. Last years debacle with coach waterhead and the possibility that he will have to make Coach O the head guy after knowing that he really wasn't the first choice doesn't give anyone the warm fuzzies in my opinion. Alleva better make the right hire or he'll be out like Elmer Fudd.
