I had a feeling this was coming and I absolutely hate it. He was an absolute stud his freshman year, but was sort of forgotten about this season, which is something I will never understand. I wish him the best and I just hope this decision doesn't come back to haunt us down the road. Bech is a baller and a playmaker and he's going to be a welcomed addition wherever he lands.
Seems like this might be due in part to his injury, and a stacked WR room. I haven’t been thrilled with Hankton’s unit, hope BK knows what he’s doing. I want players who play smart, not just a bunch of dumb athletes. I think that’s what BK wants too.
So, was his freshman year a fluke, or was this year? He had that awful muffed ball on the opening kick-off against Tennessee and then the bounce-off-his-head interception against UGA. The sophomore jinx was real with him.
That surely played into it. I didn't see anything in the scheme as vanilla as it may have been that wouldn't have worked with him in there versus any of the other wideouts. Guess we will never know until it comes out a year or two from now.
I have a feeling LSU is going to see Bech again. Auburn? Ole Miss? Alabama? He had a tough year. Maybe nothing to do. But, if I were BK, I would try to talk this guy into staying. He has not forgotten how to play football. He just had a couple of bad plays in and not so great season. Still, a good guy. Hope he finds success but without haunting us too bad.
I hate it because this kid really bled purple and gold. He was living out his dream and was very talented. Of course, I was also pulling for him because he was from Lafayette, my hometown. I don't live there anymore but still visit relatives quite often, so anytime a Lafayette player is on the roster, I'm going to pull a little extra for them! Maybe CBK can talk him into staying.
Like Abram Booty, Trey Quinn & others, Jack Bech joins the "Legacy" type players that didn't want to stay.
