Athletes all the same, and they are judged on the technical merits of their tricks. For sure there is a human nature to what is a perfect 360 and what is not. Just like there is human nature in determine what is a catch and what is not.

No. More like a circus act requiring athletic skill. Like The Flying Wallendas family of high wire walkers. Figure skating, ice dancing, synchronized swimming and their ilk are not sports. Neither is diving.
Millions if not billions of people disagree with you, but I somewhat agree with you that the definition is being pushed. Is car racing a sport, is e sports a sport? I sort of gave up trying to be stubborn and think of it as all sports. If it takes mental and physical ability to be good at something, its a sport. You are either competing directly against a opponent, or against a standard which awards points to match against your opponent. There is human error in both.
There's a reason the PAC12 can make the claim Conference of Champions. You should check out some of the sports they field teams for and ultimately win titles in.
