According to red, if LSU throws enough money at anyone, they'll take the job.

how do you know hes not? i said in another thread that things take time. even if he has been contacted, he has to interview, if he accepts, contact negotiations, etc. it wont just happen overnight even if a candidate (or candidates) has already contacted.

I like Chavis but just to throw out a couple of more names of guys I'd love to have:

    Ron English - Louisville
    Frank Spaziani - Boston College

To my knowledge, the Athletics Department does leg work to come up with candidates, and of course, works out the details for their contract, but the head coach makes the choice.

However, there are circumstances where the choice is basically forced upon them, like with Jimbo in Miles' first year.

I like Chavis for DC atleast you know what your getting. With our talent this guy can put top 5 defenses on the field every year and that's what we want ain't it? Coach O would be a helluva pick up it would almost be unfair to the rest of the SEC with him and Miles doing the recruiting plus he can flatout coach the d-line.

I would also like to see CLM go with some younger guys in the positions slots to have them ready for the future.

I'm sure I'll take some heat for this but I'd hire Mike Collins.
