The suspense at this point is the posturing of Texas and OU in the polls. Once again, Texas made big gains on OU. The voters appear to be rethinking the fact that Texas beat OU earlier this season on a neutral field. What I analyzed wasn't so much the gain on OU, which was expected since OU was idle. The real comparison was their position relative to Florida, who totally embarrassed a pretty good South Carolina team. In the coach's poll, Texas lost only 3 points to Florida. Texas gained 31 points on OU. That's the equivalent of nearly 1/4 of the voters changing their minds and swapping Texas ahead of OU. In the Harris poll, Texas gained 57 points on OU. Again about 1/4 of the voters changed their minds in favor of Texas. More importantly, Texas actually gained 4 points on Florida. The voters made another correction that was continued from last week. OU finishing ahead of Texas is not so clear as it was 2 weeks ago, with projecting wins over Tech and Oklahoma State. I see Texas holding on by a thread to 2nd in the BCS should OU beat Texas Tech this weekend. Then it all comes down to the last weekend and probably style points. Texas Tech will have a lot to say about whether a Texas/OU battle for 2nd in the BCS actually ensues. USC appears out of the running unless the Big 12 South winner loses to Missouri in the Big 12 CG. I don't think Florida will lose and will make it to the NC. USC could conceivably lose the Pac-10 title to Oregon State and still make it to the NC. Projected NC Florida vs Oklahoma
Oklahoma? You don't mean Oklahoma, like in the Sooners, do you? Oh, my God!! 2007: Lost the Fiesta 48-28 to West Virginia 2006: Managed to find a way to lose to Boise State, 43-42 2005: Had worst Stoops era lost to Texas, 45-12; lost 41-24 to UCLA 2004: Lost 55-19 to Southern Cal in the Orange Bowl 2003: Lost 35-7 to K-State, becoming the only non-conference champ to play in the BCS championship, where they lost 14-7. You mean THAT Oklahoma? Hell, they make Ohio State look good when it comes to big games. I'm stoopsified.
I think they will win also, Opew does not have the defense to play against that offense. I think the moon and stars are lining up for TT to play against Florida for all the marbles. There are some unbelievable QB's in the Big 12 this year. Graham Harrell is making the most of his last chance. I hope they beat the crap out of the Sooners, there is not another team outside the SEC that hates LSU any more than Oklahoma. Checkout soonerfans.com or ouinsider.com for the LSU "hate", Les Miles "hate", it is unbelievable what they think of LSU. They hate having their azzes kicked. However, I would not put it past Chase Daniel in his last game as a "Tiger" to pull an upset in the Big 12 CG.:geaux:
I've been a member on SF.com for 5 years and have cultivated a number of personal relationships. I think it's a good place on the 'Net. Some of them had bad experiences in NO and all of them hate Les from his time at oSu. The thing about them is that they respect knowledgable discourse, and I have mounds of positive "spek" over there. Their fark board is second to none as well.
That would be 21 - 14 by a very talented LSU team: http://www.lsusports.net/src/data/lsu/assets/docs/fb/03stats/ls14.htm?DB_OEM_ID=5200 14 - 7 LSU was the score at half time.
God I hate the final score of that game. LSU should have won 24-0. Both TDs were gifts from turnovers.
Agreed, but we have the crystal !!!! Poor Jason White, we owned him that night. What a great feeling that was.
I too hope for Tech to win this game. I think OU would get spanked by Florida. Tech will give Florida all sorts of problems with their offense.
