Technically, no. We don't vote. TV markets, ticket sales, etc. are, however, the driving force behind all this $hyt. Money talks and bullshyt walks.
Nicky: Honey, come quick! This seems to be one heck of an erection! Wife: Uh, hate to say it darling, but, it only seems to be one. I've got dinner to make; call me when ya got the real deal, and not something that seems to be! Nicky:[Mumbling to self]: It seemed real to me! [Throws another dart at a Les Miles photo affixed to a dartboard].
Why does every time LSU is in actual BCS contention there has to be controversy? I wish there was just another undefeated team (not a crappy non AQ team like Houston) that we could play and be done with the whole thing. At this point all LSU has to do is keep winning and the rest will take care of itself. Bring on Bama. We control our destiny and Bama still has to sweat out next weekend with no control over the situation. We win we are in. Oh and it will be fun to see paranoia set in the Bama fan base. There will be many pundits in the next week that start to change their tune about a rematch. The media loves to swing back and forth and see how they can influence things. Should be fun. Go Tigers!
I'm kinda torn on this one. I don't really care for the thought of a rematch, just because I'm of the opinion that they had their shot at LSU once already and lost.. At home.. Too bad, good game, maybe next year gumps. That said, I do believe that LSU and Bama are the best two teams in the country; the BCS is supposed to put the top 2 in the big dance. So looking at it like that, it seems kind of the thing to do since no other conference or division for that matter can produce anyone that deserves to be on the field with either LSU or Bama.. They should make Bama play us 2 more times though so it would be best of three (like that would ever happen). If they beat us on the 9th, honestly a tie for national champion is the best they deserve in my humble opinion. But, if a rematch is what it ends up being and it's do or die on the 9th, I like our chances in the dome. Bring it, Bama... Bring it.
I wanted a Bama rematch ... badly ... then I watched the Saban Fowler interview ... That lil phony who HATES the media sucking ESPN balls Phuck 'em LSU = 1.000 Bama = 0.950 OKSt= 0.930 OKSt wins and they're in ... They were projected at 0.890 ... The 0.950 is already telling us what's gonna happen. They don't even need VT to lose FK you Saban! To Death:hihi: LSU
That's my biggest bone of contention. If LSU had beaten Bama at LSU, at least you could start to argue for a rematch. Once you lost at home, why are you getting another shot at it?
Note the computer rankings between Alabama and OSU: BCS #2 (Bama) = .950% BCS #3 (OSU) = .930% That means the difference is overwhelmingly in the human polls. Voters can't vote against LSU right now as it would expose bias. Yet, many of them do NOT want to see an all-SEC BCS championship game. Since LSU has a game left, an LSU loss would make everything easy for them so they would drop LSU to #3 and send Alabama and OSU to the dance. But when LSU wins next week, the voters that do not want an all-SEC BCSCG will have only one card left in the deck: vote Alabama the 3rd best team.
Bama had their chance, they couldn’t get it done. They don’t belong in the BCS NC Game. I know they are probably going to play, but they don’t deserve to be there. Being old school, I think that if you don’t win your division or your conference you do not belong in the BCS National Championship Game. If Georgia beats LSU, we should not go to the BCS NC Game. Alabama certainly doesn’t belong. They didn’t even win their division. If you want a playoff it is going to be among conference champions, teams that took care of business during the season – Bama did not and would not be playing for all the marbles if we had a playoff system. If LSU doesn’t beat UGA, they haven’t taken care of business either and wouldn’t be going forward in a playoff system. I am aware the LSU has made it to the BCS NC without winning all its regular season games, but we did win our division and the conference championship in those years. We did what we had to do to keep playing. ldskule:
If Bama winds up in the BCS title game, it will be the third time that a team that didn't win its conference championship has done so. The rules of the BCS don't require that teams win their conference, even though a lot of us agree that it makes sense.
