has anyone heard that we're dropping north texas from the schedule next year??? this could be to schedule with the bcs opponent and we prolly schedule someone easy on the 13th. does anyone know this for a fact?
According to schedule on LSUSports.net, the Gumps come in on Nov 8, followed on the 22 by Ole Miss, leaving Nov 15 an open date. 2 opens would be great for the team. Give 'em time to rest up. ldskule:
you are right. i printed off a schedule about a month ago so i could start some early planning for trips. i didnt realize it had changed. i guess i need to reprint the schedule. my bad.
all of these things are fine and dandy, but ESPN is involved. That means $. That means teams will drop games if they have to. So pretty much anyone is possible.
I sure hope it isnt Baylor. Thats like Meechigan beating their chest a few years ago when they talked about scheduling an SEC team. Unfortunately it turned out to be Vandy. :rolleye33:
Even a Vanderbilt-type whipping boy from another BCS conference would be better than playing the ULL's and North Texas' of the world over and over again. Intriguing matchups I'd like to see: UCLA, Colorado, or North Carolina (we had a pretty good home-and-home with them during the Hilliard-James era, as I recall).
A lot of us want that, but they are still mad at us for getting out of the last contract. Plus, they know a beatdown in their backyard won't help them recruit east Texas. Won't happen anytime soon.
