If Eddy Lacy/Yeldon runs the ball on 4th and 2 at then end of the game, all these threads would not exist. That was still a very close game. The fact that A&M almost choked down a very big lead gained in the first half has been COMPLETELY forgotten.
Forgotten? They held on when we couldn't. Alabama was undefeated and at home. Of course they came back and tried to win. That's why they were ranked #1. Some of you have lost your minds trying to discredit other teams in the strangest ways possible.
Not trying to discredit A&M in anyway................however, if you live in the DFW area and are around as many Aggies as I am you would think they invaded Tuscaloosa, burned it down, raped the women and stole all the kids. A&M has a reputation for blowing big leads...........they did against Florida and LSU, if they had blown it against Alabama then the discussion forums would look very different. In their minds there is no need to discuss why Florida who has a better record and BEAT A&M in their own house should be an at-large BCS team. They have totally discounted what LSU did because they now have the same record as LSU and beat the team we lost to. Aggie "math" does not involve "head to head" competition. I just wonder what the LSU/Alabama outcome would have been if we had played Alabama the week AFTER they had played A&M???? I still say EITHER Alabama running back slams that ball in and A&M is 7-3. One f&^k-up play by Alabama does not all of a sudden put A&M in a BCS game over two teams they lost too that are also ranked ahead of them, that is my point.
when it comes to bowl games there's not many better draws than LSU, however aTm has the johnny football factor going for them. Funny no one seems to remember how poorly he played against lsu outside the first two drives.
Not trying to discredit anyone......when you factor in the head to head battle between lsu/aTm.....there's no comparison who's the better team. It was decided on the field.
This is always hazy...I believe we're better than Bama, and the box score agrees with me. Unfortunately, it's the scoreboard that matters most. Who's REALLY better? We'd have to play two out of three, maybe three out of five, to really find out.
If the LSU of right now were to play the Gumps of right now in a five game series assuming that neither team would learn no more about the other than hey already know and experience any injuries that take out key players, the Gumps would be lucky to win more than once.
