W. Virginia losing to Pitt Missouri losing to OU We may also need Virginia Tech to lose to Boston College. At the very least VTech needs to struggle to beat them, it cannot be a blowout. I think the battle for 2nd if both Vtech and LSU win will be based on style points. A blowout by Vtech will make the earlier loss to Boston College look like a fluke (which it was). We will definitely jump idle Georgia and Kansas in the BCS, no matter what the margin of victory is over UT. Missouri will probably lose to OU as the pressure will be too much for them in unchartered territory. Brad Edwards, a BCS guru, seems convinced we surpass Vtech regardless of the margins of victory. Vtech will get a slightly better bump in the computer polls playing Boston College, however. In order for Pitt to win, it will likely take an injury to Pat White. Pitt's defense is really really bad. WVU might put up another 66 on Saturday. Boston College vs. V Tech - 1 PM EST LSU vs. Tennessee - 4 PM EST Pittsburgh at W. Virginia - 7:45 PM EST Missouri vs. OU - 8 PM EST Hopefully what we get is a resounding win by LSU over Tennessee, Boston College upsets V Tech, OU upsets Missouri and then we are awaiting the outcome of Pitt vs WVU played at the same time as Missouri/OU. Would be fun.
I agree with you on WVU hangin 66 up again with Pat White, I was able to watch sat. game here in Big 10+1-9 country and he is vary good. As far as Vtech I feel it will not matter if they win or how much they win by I think we pass em with a win. JMHO. :geaux:
Reallistically speaking, I would say our chances are somewhere between slim and none. But the way this crazy season has gone, hell who knows, anything is possible.
Now, I'm no BCS guru, but I do know who the best team is. IMO, if we whip UT pretty good and Mizzou loses to OU, then why not us? With tOSU, Kansas and Georgia being idle, I think we stand at least a small chance of creaping in through the back door. There is nothing wrong with having a little hope. :geaux:
Assuming an LSU win... If either team loses, Ohio St. is back in... If both lose, its OSU against the SEC Champ again... Gotta wonder if anyone will be apprehensive about giving OSU that shot again...
I'm sure I'm having a blonde moment here (one of many in a 24 hour period) but I thought margin of victory was not a factor. Isn't that why VT ended up ahead of LSU and ASU ahead of USC in 3 of 6 BCS computers? Be nice now.
I think they are talking about human polls that or part of the BCS ( Harris, Coaches) not the puter polls the puter polls only can see a win or loss no matter if is by 1 or 100......I think I have it right.....Man I hate going in to work in the AM, all I am gonna hear is how tOSU will play in the NCG.......lets hope they play USCw and get their butts wiped.
The BCS guru (istl) can correct me if I'm wrong, but margin of victory was dropped from the computer formulas a few years ago. It may be a consideration in the minds of the human voters.
