I don't know that I agree with this ..... if LSU beats #1 Bama .. and then #1 Florida .. it's going to be hard to say that K-state trumps LSU. Sure .. they will have beaten some lower ranked teams .. but to beat 2 - #1 teams will impress the human poll ... and the computers will no doubt favor LSU in the bidding after beating both Bama and Florida. No other team will have come close to knocking off such lofty teams. IF .. and I say "if" ... LSU beats Bama ... FL stays undefeated and wins the East, and LSU beats them in the SEC CG ... I think the politics of the system will be hard pressed to put an undefeated ND or K-State ahead of LSU. .. .it would be an LSU vs Oregon rematch.
That's what I'm saying. Public perception of a 1 loss SEC team goes a long way. If LSU goes in over KSU and wins, then the SEC love continues. If we go in past KSU and lose, then the SEC no longer gets a pass. I mean the SECCG would basically be a NCG semifinal, so it would only be fair to put LSU or UF in the game after that game.
Throw on top of that. Right NOW ... if the SEC CG was played this weekend, it would be between FL and AL. The Winner has all but been assurred a seat in the BCSNCG. One has to ask. What's the difference in a future FL and Bama match ... and a FL vs LSU match .. when the only team LSU lost to was FL?? ... NONE .. NOTTA. How do you justify saying ... that if FL wins, they get to go to the NCG ... whereas if LSU wins .. they don't?? That'd be a tough sell!! IF ... LSU beats Bama, wins out, and if FL stays undefeated, and LSU beats them in the SECCG ... LSU goes to the NCG. .. you can bank on it. The other team will be a tossup between an undefeated Oregon, K-State and ND. .. if they all make it that far. The only case where I see LSU winning out and winning the SECCG and not going to the NCG ... is if GA beats FL this weekend, and thus all SEC teams have 1 loss. [In that case, Bama goes to the NCG as the media darling .. ]
It's no doubt that undefeated Florida or Alabama plays for the marbles. That's not the question. The question is does a 1 loss LSU that avenged it's only loss in the SECCG, have the juice to jump over an undefeated K State or an undefeated Oregon. If Notre Dame is undefeated, they are in and there isn't a thing anyone can do about it. But that's not going to happen. They will have 1 loss before the end of the season. I'm not real sure Oklahoma beats them this weekend though. Bob Stoops used to be big game Bob, now he is more like once every 3 big game Bob. That's an interesting match up. USC is USC, they lose teams they have no business losing to. Will a 1 loss LSU, if we make it that far, jump an undefeated KState, or Oregon, or Notre Dame if they end up undefeated? I just don't see it happenening because of the human element. Beating 2 number 1's plus a ranked Mississippi State, in my opinion keeps us out, and their logic would be that the SEC is just over rated this year. Watch, those voters are sick of the SEC, and they are about ratings, last years national championship game was one of the lowest rated in years.
Yeah . .... it had the lowest ratings because Saban sucked someone's pecker to make sure his team was put in above OSU. That should have never happened. It's no different than politics .... people are tired of the lies and what not .. and begin just tuning out. Granted, if it is an undefeated Oregon and Nortre Dame ... we probably wouldn't go. Set's up an interesting scenario ... does LSU throw the game against FL to ensure they get to go?? I"d hope not. But .. I don't think K-State stays above a one lose LSU that knocks off Bama and FL in a win out.
11 am????? so your saying that lsu/bama would not be the primetime game??? I cant see that happening.
