Cept there was that struggle with 1 win Auburn fluke too. Oh and that other team we struggled with...what was their name again?
struggling early in the season will not matter if we beat 2 number 1 teams in 1 season, one being vengance for the 1 blemish on our record. Now this is only if there is 1 undefeated team at the end of the season. We will jump all other 1 loss teams if we run the table.
Keep in mind we would only have to jump 1 of them to get in the big game. No one wants to see KSU vs Oregon in the national championship. The standard has been set that the SEC rules the CFB world and in order for a team to win a NC, they need to beat an SEC team. If LSU wins out, we will be that team that either KSU or Oregon will have to beat. The voters play a big role in this and in 2007, it was determined that we were the best 2 loss team available regardless of our #7 ranking at the time. The computers will keep us in it but the voters perception will put us in the game if we are in that position.
I don't think the voters will jump us over an undefeated KState or undefeated Oregon. I just don't see it.
If the margin between us and KSU is close at the SECCG, we might because they don't have a big 12 title game anymore
We can jump some undefeateds as well. IF LSU runs out, and woops a #1 ranked Bama, and a #1 ranked FL in the SECCG .. it's going to be tough to argue that LSU doesn't deserve a shot.
Not gonna happen....K-state undefeated would have a very nice resume......oregon not so much but would have a conference championship game now.....those two undefeated would play in the NC game...and deservedly so....doesn't really mean the would be the "best" 2 teams in football but thats not what the bcs is about...it's about pitting the two most deserving teams.
Kansas State (#10/#42 offense in NCAA, #14/#24 defense in NCAA), is currently #3 in the BCS behind Bama and Florida. They still have to face: #14 Texas Tech (#10/#11 offense in NCAA, #7/#34 defense in NCAA, beat WV 49-14) #30 Oklahoma St. (#1/#4 offense in NCAA, #47/#52 defense in NCAA, only loss in Big 12 is to Texas by 7) @ #28 TCU (#30/#37 offense in NCAA, #17/#32 defense in NCAA, only lost to Texas Tech by 3) @Baylor (#3/#3 offense in NCAA, #124/#124 defense in NCAA, lost by 7 to WV, by 6 to Texas) #23 Texas (#6/#31 offense in NCAA, #105/#110 defense in NCAA, beat Ole Miss 66-31)
Okie state could very well be a matchup nightmare for K-state.....spread offense shootout type of game.
